The use of the three materials concrete, steel and fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) gives us the independence to choose the best possible material for your application. Thanks to cutting-edge production processes we can therefore ensure the greatest possible benefit for you.

Spun concrete technology

For the processing of concrete we focus on tried and tested spun concrete technology. The pre-stressed concrete is pressed against the wall of the longitudinally rotating steel mould with 20-fold gravitational acceleration and densely compacted. This process results in a product that is extremely robust.

Durable and cost-effective

Spun concrete poles are not just extremely resistant to vandalism and the effects of fire; they also withstand extreme vibrations and aggressive environmental influences such as frost or salty sea air. Together with the non-scratch, impact-resistant surface, this stability ensures a long service life with minimal maintenance requirements, resulting in significant cost savings in the long term.

Greatest possible design scope

By their tremendous load-bearing capacity with concrete qualities up to C140, spun concrete poles are available in very slender diameters. To meet individual preferences, all rotationally symmetrical cross-sections are feasible (round, oval, angular, polygonal). The spinning process results in a cavity through the centre of the column. This well protected cavity can be used to house power cables and disposal conduits. A wide range of colours and structures means that the smooth, non-porous surface of the columns can be given an attractive finish.

Convincing ecological footprint

Spun concrete poles are fully recyclable. Thanks to the production process, design features and low maintenance requirements they have an outstanding energy and ecological footprint.

Flow and vibrated concrete construction method

As well as the spun concrete process, we are also able to produce concrete parts using the flow and vibrated concrete methods if required.

Steel processing

Regardless of whether we are manufacturing a standard or custom product, we use only high-quality steel grades for our steel poles. The technology we use will depend on requirements and area of application: Processes like laser welding and hot dip galvanising, and specially developed machines for special-purpose production, guarantee an optimum result. Production with low energy requirements and reduced CO2 emissions is both environmentally compatible and resource-saving.

Corrosion-resistant and strong

Poles made of galvanised steel are largely corrosion-resistant and resistant to dirt and vandalism. Thanks to their low vibration characteristics they are also very strong. This makes them durable and reduces costs for maintenance and premature replacement.

Attractive design

The shape of steel poles can be adapted to individual preferences and they can be fitted with additional supports or beams. Uniform wall thicknesses ensure that the pole attachments will be an exact fit, avoiding costs for rework. The large selection of surface colours and patterns allows the poles to blend harmoniously with virtually any surroundings. Coatings and finishes ensure that the poles retain their attractive visual appearance.

Efficient use of resources

Steel poles do not need additional protection for transport, so there is no need for packaging material. This increases the effective load volume for transport and therefore reduces freight costs.

Fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) - patented centrifugal process

Our FRP poles are manufactured using a patented centrifugal casting process. Glass fibre mats are wound around a metal mandrel and placed in a chrome-plated steel mould. In the subsequent centrifugal casting process, the reinforcing and matrix material is compacted through strong centrifugal force and the addition of resins.

Strong and resistant

This process results in a product with properties that guarantee maximum passive safety in accordance with frangibility requirements. The material breaks on impact, making it a supremely safe option to protect road users, for example. FRP poles meet stringent safety standards as they are flame retardant, fully insulated and non-conductive. Poles made from FRP are light yet strong. They are resistant to wind loads, vandalism, weather influences and corrosion, making them durable and maintenance-free. In addition, good vibration absorption also ensures a long service life for any luminaires or other fittings attached.

Range of RAL colours

Depending on customer requirements any RAL colour can be applied to the poles during the centrifugal casting process itself. The colours are UV resistant and the pole surface remains completely smooth, scratch-resistant, homogeneous and seamless. Mechanical damage to the pole surface can be easily rectified.

Environmentally friendly materials

Our FRP poles are made from environmentally friendly materials with low energy cost. Their low weight means that transport and installation costs are also reduced.

Hybrid combinations

Depending on requirements and customer preferences, a combination of different materials and their properties can offer an ideal solution. Hybrid combinations offer an opportunity to combine the benefits of the various materials.
